Medical Mutual of Ohio acquires Premier Health Systems
COLUMBIA - Medical Mutual of Ohio announced the acquisition of Premier Health Systems (PHS), a national Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), a network which is based in Columbia, South Carolina.
PHS was in possession of “Sisters of Charity, hospitals and Providence Palmetto Health.
This acquisition expands Medical Mutual presence in South Carolina after the acquisition during the past year of the Carolina Care Plan, a plan for Colombia, the health of around 55000 members.
“With our ownership of the Premier Health Systems, Medical Mutual maintains its dynamism in the south-eastern part of the country and increase the growth of our business,” said the CEO of Medical Mutual Kent Clapp.
“This acquisition expands our product line also South Carolina with a vast network of PPO, which complements our plan Carolina Care HMO,” Clapp. “The sale of aid in the development of our other subsidiaries, Consumers Life Insurance Company and the 1st Medical Network, near the Georgia by Cross-Border Affairs.
